The Capital Cup 2006 proved to be one of the biggest one-day events that the UK has ever seen. Over 430 competitors took part in the sparring and 70 competitors in the poomse.
Teams from as far as Ireland joined some of England’s finest teams for the 10th anniversary of the Capital Cup.
Gurumu took the 1st place in the team event, followed by Chungdokwan GB, Lienster TKD (Ireland), Future TKD and Jaguar TKD.
The crowd had the chance to see some great performances from Delroy Palmer in –58 Senior male A, Galena Vecere –55 Senior female A, Nathan Hall –84 Senior male A.
The best performance of the day was undoubtedly Dawud Izza who at only 15 swept away all opposition in the –62 Senior male category.
Some controversial decisions got the crowd going at times but overall the competition ran smoothly.
